Gatherings on the Green
Wedding & Event Venue
Everyday, a newly engaged couple is on the hunt for the right wedding venue. They understand location is important. They want a neutral design that can compliment their wedding's personality. They search for something that is not too old, nor too modern. I present the venue known as Gatherings on the Green. I had the pleasure of not only visiting the venue, but to also photograph some beautiful aspects of it.
The first thing that caught my eye as I was pulling into the drive was that this venue has plenty of space. Perfect for stunning sunset backdrops. The building itself sits back from the main road. I loved this because it gave the location a secluded feel. I could also picture a beautiful lantern design lighting the way for guests.
If you haven't set up a walk through, you should. The property turned from small private golf club to a celebration location.
One of the outdoor structures is a very tall, very large pavilion. It is a few yards away from the main venue. I could see this being a great spot for dancing among the stars. Imagine seeing Edison bulbs sparkling above the dance floor. I could see the DJ placed in a corner, and long, dramatic, organza, draped around each column.
My favorite area is the dreamy and romantic wedding ceremony spot. A massive, powerful, and elegant wooden pergola stands on it's own, overlooking a pond. Designed by the owners Kim & Lee, this is your picture perfect ceremony! The pergola sits only a few yards away from the main venue. Imagine draped sheers, with slight touches of greenery accenting your vows.
The main building is a diamond in the rough. It can hold about 250 guests. I lost my breath when my eye caught sight of the chandelier. The chandelier is the signature for Gatherings on the Green. You can see it used in their logo. The owners Kim Oswald & Lee Markley knew the moment they saw the chandelier, it must be in their venue. They believe every couple needs their first dance under this show stopper.
The rest of the room is simple, but still a bit of character. Dark wood rafters and metal Silver half walls with white wash wood texture.
Opposite the chandelier, is a tremendous, handmade, wooden sliding door. With different size wood planks, the stain colors appear red and brow and tan and blue.
The last little detail I want to mention is the simple, quaint bridal sweet. The details made the room gorgeous. A French divider and an old style makeup vanity. There is even burgundy settee sofa.
If you are still on the hunt for a wedding venue, schedule a walk through soon. This venue can play on almost any character or theme that your wedding embodies. So, if you seek something that is a bit of modern, natural, warm, and sparkly, you found it. Reach out to Kim or Lee before you wedding date books.
